When I think of Singapore, the first images that come to mind are that it is a developed country, clean, and has excellent security. I think most people would feel the same.
I once asked an American, who I had met during my work in the past, which country he enjoyed living in the most. I was secretly expecting him to say Korea, but his answer was Singapore.
So, when my wife suggested we go, I happily agreed, and it turned out to be very similar to what I expected.
The First Reason to Visit Singapore: Changi Airport
Recently, Changi Airport’s JEWEL space was an eye-opening experience, even though I had been accustomed to Incheon Airport, which has been ranked among the top airports in the world. Personally, I don’t like artificial plants, but the waterfall surrounded by countless plants was truly mesmerizing.
The Second Reason: Cleanliness and Hygiene
The hotels and restaurants were naturally clean, but this was the first time I’ve seen a country where even the sewers were spotless. Maybe it’s because of the stark contrast to other Southeast Asian countries I visited before? After returning, I researched and learned that there are strict regulations—such as a $1000 fine for spitting gum or tossing cigarette butts. I was impressed by how the people endure these inconveniences.
The Third Reason: Multicultural Harmony
For many years now, I’ve seen foreign workers across South Korea, regardless of Eastern or Western origins, coexisting harmoniously. I hope this becomes the future for our country as well. Whether it’s due to strict law enforcement or the inherent kindness of the people, I found it admirable.
Though I was only there for two nights and three days, I’d like to share some places that you should visit.
Universal Studios Singapore
Universal Studios Singapore, located at 8 Sentosa Gateway, Singapore, is a theme park that offers thrilling rides, from children to adults, taking you back to the memories of childhood movies. We spent a delightful day here.
Singapore Paradox Merchant Court at Clarke Quay

This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The friendly staff, plush bedding, amazing bathrooms, and a gym equipped with Technogym machines were some of the highlights. If you’re debating where to stay, I highly recommend this hotel.
Merlion Park

Taking family photos in front of the world-famous statue is truly enjoyable. Try some fun poses with the Merlion in the background!
Maxwell Food Centre

If you're wondering where to eat, Maxwell Food Centre is a must-visit, where you can try local favorites like Hainanese chicken rice, roasted duck rice, and delicious fruit juices. It's a true taste of Singapore!
In just two nights and three days, I felt like I could have stayed longer. I don’t know when I’ll travel abroad again, but when I do, I think Singapore will be my top choice.
